Extract Version

The operation of the ABS SOLA-BOOST system can also be used in the extract mode using the same power supply and power transmission but this uses the Monodraught system mainly as extract but still allows the fresh air to enter one side of the system to provide the make-up air to replace the air removed by this form of powered extract.

Monodraught have recently joined forces with WindowMaster, the company that specialised in programmable motorised window openings for intelligent facades. Whereas WINDCATCHER® natural ventilation systems have generally been a great success, some Clients still like to maximise the use of their window openings and the ability to provide programmable controlled window openings has always proved very popular.

The advantage of the WindowMaster system is that their programme can take account of varying wind movement, solar gain, and a whole host of varying conditions, to control the window opening criteria. In such circumstances, the SOLA-BOOST ABS WINDCATCHER can operate in reverse, that is to extract air from the building, still by solar power and still being energy free, but in this case, it is used in conjunction with the WindowMaster by not only forming an extract path for the cross ventilation but actually encouraging that cross ventilation by drawing air out of the building without using any energy sources apart, of course, from the new solar powered extract fan!

This natural extract ventilation arrangement can, of course, equally be used with the complete range of Monodraught systems but yet again, the SOLA-BOOST ABS WINDCATCHERr offers a very cost effective solution.
