Contracts Engineer

We are seeking a Contracts/Project Engineer to join our busy contracts department. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the position primarily involves the management of a number of projects from order to completion.

Job Outline

You will be required to prepare correspondence and produce 2D working and manufacturing drawings in AutoCAD, as well as co-ordinate the installation of the Company's range of natural ventilation, cooling and lighting equipment with the clients and contractors.

The position will be office based with a requirement to visit sites across the UK as necessary.

You would need to be able to work extremely efficiently and to contractual deadlines/timescales.

Detailed duties

  • Manage projects efficiently, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with the appropriate contractual procedures.
  • Creating AutoCAD drawings (design, working and manufacturing).
  • Liaising with clients and contractors ensuring relevant information and details are communicated to enable manufacturing drawings to be produced and highlighting requirements, programmes and lead times to contractor.
  • Producing health & safety documentation e.g. method statements, risk assessments, and COSSH assessments to Monodraught’s standard format and discussing with site engineers the method of installation and attendance.
  • Using the CRM system to produce purchase orders / works orders for various components. Liaising directly with the manufacturers to ensure that the products can be manufactured within the given time constraints.
  • Liaising with clients and customers as well as with Monodraught’s internal support services to co-ordinate the smooth progression of projects from order stage to final handover including monitoring of labour.
  • Arranging crane / powered access equipment / scaffolding surveys and ensuring installation dates with Clients and scheduling the deliveries of plant equipment.
  • Managing the logistics of completing the project within time and budget and ensuring contract financial requirements are adhered to.
  • Offering assistance and technical support to clients that have purchased equipment on supply only basis.
  • Dealing with after sales and warranty issues and arranging remedial works / snagging re-visits and site attendances.

Pre-requisites

  • A mechanical engineer with a proven track record in managing multiple projects within a HVAC related environment is seen as ideal.
  • Candidates qualified to Graduate/HNC level with clear potential will also be considered.
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK/European Economic Area.

Essential Criteria

  • Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft and CRM packages.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Able to organise and prioritise workload effectively paying attention to important details and can be relied upon to produce high quality work. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety working within the Construction industry including a general awareness of CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Able to deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Confident, responsible and reliable individual, comfortable to contribute effectively to team effort.
  • Experience in construction / mechanical services project management.
  • Current valid UK driving licence.
