Design & Application Engineer

We are looking for a Design & Application Engineer.

Job Outline

This position involves interfacing with Monodraught technical consultants and also directly with clients including consultants, architects and contractors to prepare ventilation, heating, cooling and daylight solutions to suit a variety of buildings. The role requires the engineer to create proposal  including the design document, quotations and necessary drawings for projects, using project specific information (e.g. drawings, specifications, project descriptions and requirements etc.,) provided by the client and also in accordance to the UK/International building regulations and design criteria (e.g. CIBSE guidelines) . The design engineer will also use the internal static and dynamic modelling methods to help assess the systems required and the efficiency and performance of those systems. Projects within the department are taken from enquiry to order stage and all data should be entered on a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform as accurate as possible. The engineer is expected to provide clients with technical support during the course of each project as well as making necessary revisions to the design and financial proposals to meet the client requirements in different stages of the project. Also, at the point of order, the Engineer will follow up with the client to help deliver complete customer satisfaction and ensure the price is competitive and all the information issued is current and correct before handing over to the Contracts team.

Essential Factors

  • Customer Focused
  • Understanding of the natural and mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling principles
  • Understanding of building thermal comfort and indoor air quality requirements and criteria
  • Understanding of construction drawings, specification and design documentation.
  • Degree in related discipline
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD software
  • Able to deliver high quality customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Capable of using IES Virtual Environment (IESVE) dynamic thermal modelling software
  • Capable of using Autodesk Revit
