Our range of standard and bespoke products are manufactured at our ISO9001 and ISO14001 accredited High Wycombe factory.

R&D

With a long history of innovation, Monodraught pioneered sustainable, low energy ventilation and cooling products. We partner with leading UK universities to research cutting edge technologies and we have an active R&D team of highly qualified engineers and technical specialists.

 

The R&D Team is led by Nick Hopper, Technical Director, who is credited with many of Monodraught’s innovations and is a named on numerous low energy building product patents.

With over 45 years’ experience, Monodraught products have saved the equivalent of nearly 400,000 tonnes CO2 over the last two decades, which is equivalent to over 3,534 million miles in a small car*.

The Climate Change Reality

Greenhouse gas emissions continue to drive global warming and the five-year period to 2018 was the hottest ever recorded. The 20 warmest years on record have been in the past 22 years (WMO). We are not on track to meet climate change targets, and Arctic sea ice may disappear as soon as the 2050 sunless emissions are reduced.

 

Around 2.6 million people in the UK will be impacted by the significant risk of flooding with only a 2ºC temperature rise (Environmental Audit Committee). This climate reality strongly motivates Monodraught to live by our green principles and to invest in sustainable solutions.

Our Challenge

Climate emergency protests have created a new sense of urgency, and the UK government have legislated for net zero carbon by 2050. Achieving this means virtually eliminating all emissions from the UK’s 1.8 million non-domestic buildings where 2/3 of the energy consumption (BEIS) provides heating,ventilation, cooling, hot water and lighting. The construction industry and HVAC suppliers have a vital role in urgently reducing energy usage and higher standards are crucial to drive down carbon emissions. We must urgently transition to low energy solutions and veer away from the use of refrigerants wherever possible. Monodraughtare fully committed to help meet this challenge with our range of low-carbon products.
